Services and facilities

The Ivan Ward Centre includes a shop, hair salon and consulting rooms for visiting health professionals within the Centre.

Each household has:

• its own 24/7 care partners
• its own front door with a doorbell
• lounge with fireplace
• one large dining table, room for all members of the household to dine together
• domestic open plan kitchen for residents, whanau and staff
• a den or whanau room for residents and families to use during visits, or for whanau to stay overnight (fold-out couch bed)
• a guest toilet close to the whanau rooms
• a small domestic laundry that both residents and families can use should they wish to (a regular commercial laundry service is also available).

Each resident’s care suite has:

• its own ensuite (bidet optional)
  
• a fully adjustable electric hospital bed
  
• a wardrobe and other basic furnishings are available if desired
  
• wifi, smart TV with access to SKY TV*, Netflix* and Skype*
  
• hoist and smart call bell system
  *These services are organised by family and charged directly to the family.

A premium room charge of $70 per day (GST inclusive) applies to all rooms in the Ivan Ward Centre, as of 16 May 2023.

Activities

You can take advantage of a wide range of activities for both enjoyment and to maintain mobility. The Ivan Ward Centre has its own activities’ coordinators who organises: carpet bowls, reading to residents, providing large print books, breakfast in bed, listening to classical music, concerts and other entertainment, indoor games, outings, parties, pianists, sing-alongs and much more. A village minibus takes residents for drives, and there is a ‘happy hour’ each week.

• private library and lounge area, complete with computers and free internet access
• gift shop, mini market, opportunity shop and hair salon

• Wellness Centre including dentist
• on request buggy-service, for residents who require transport around the village
• public bus service running through the village, connecting to central and eastern Auckland
