Staff and residential care residents from Auckland’s Selwyn Village have come together with The Selwyn Foundation’s Group Office staff to film a Selwyn version of ‘The Running Man’ dance challenge.
Twenty-five residents and staff from across the village’s care facilities, independent living services team and head office administration joined in the fun event, filmed in the retirement village’s main theatre.
With the dance moves choreographed by a member of staff (a former personal dance instructor to two past presidents of the Philippines), caregiving and admin staff as well as rest home residents got into the swing of things, to deliver their joyful interpretation of this social media dance craze.
The event was organised by Selwyn Village’s diversional therapy and activities team, who coordinated the session and ensured that residents enjoyed participating in the dancing as much as they were able.
Filming and production of the video were undertaken by freelance filmmaker, Luz Savinon, who kindly donated her services at no cost.
