Retirement Villages

The Selwyn Foundation has a rich history in the retirement sector.

We established one of New Zealand’s first retirement villages, Selwyn Village in Pt Chevalier, Auckland - back in 1954. Since then we’ve expanded the number of villages throughout Auckland and beyond.

As the world moves on, so do the needs and requirements of people over 65. That’s why we invested in significant developments for both independent living and residential care in recent years. We also drew on the best aged care practices from around the world to update and redefine our care model.

The Selwyn Foundation's retirement villages have the philosophy of ‘a continuum of care’. So alongside independent retirement living option, most villages have their own rest home or hospital care. We have an active attitude to wellness, supporting and encouraging village residents to be as independent as possible, for as long as possible.
