Residential Care

Selwyn Village provides a full continuum of care

Iconic Selwyn Village in Point Chevalier has a rich history of offering people over 65 a unique lifestyle and modern, innovative services.

Originally a market garden, the land was purchased in the early 1950's. Gardens planted then are now mature and extend to the water's edge. A palm-lined avenue, park-like grounds, well-tended flowerbeds and pretty shrubs complement the garden environment and coastal walks lead to a sheltered swimming beach.

Selwyn Village has grown to around 560 residents, with superb modern apartments and extensive amenities.

On-site qualified nursing staff provide residents with 24/7 support and health care as needed. On-going developments at Selwyn Village include the new Ivan Ward Centre, a 2 storey residential care home for 90 people, now open.

Selwyn Village offers a full range of options for independent living to residential or hospital care. So even if your health needs change, there’s no need to move away from the village. Visit our living options page for rest home and hospital care options, including Sarah Selwyn.

Enhancing seniors’ wellbeing and engagement through the Make Moments creative art programme

At our residential care homes, we’ve been hosting the ‘Make Moments’ art programme, a very special creative art initiative run by charitable trust, Connect the Dots. Not only are the sessions proving to be extremely popular with participants, but they’re also delivering a wide range of benefits for people’s emotional wellbeing, cognitive ability, and social engagement and interaction. You can learn more about the ‘Make Moments’ partnership between The Selwyn Foundation and Connect the Dots by viewing the above mini documentary.
